An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a complete inspection and test of your fixed wiring, from the main switchgear and distribution boards to every final circuit. It confirms the installation is safe to keep using, and provides the evidence your insurer, landlord, auditor or facilities team expects under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

Private landlords in England must have rented homes inspected and tested at least every five years, give tenants a copy of the report within 28 days, and give it to new tenants before they move in. Solihull Council can ask for a copy, which must be supplied within 7 days. Any remedial work must be completed within 28 days.
